Admirals 38-20 Victory over Frankfurt Galaxy

The Admirals beat the Frankfurt Galaxy 38-20 in Amsterdam last night. It was a very exciting game and an awesome win for the Admirals. There are about 10 or so girlfriends, fiance's, and/or wives in town right now so the game was much for entertaining for me! All of us girls (and Bush) took the train together to the game. To the left are 4 of us... Samantha (Skyler's girlfriend), Me, Erin (Marco's girlfriend), and Rachel (Claude's girlfriend). Most of the girls are just here for a week or so, but Sam will be here for over a month!! I'm really excited to have another companion.

This picture is of the "jumbo-tron". If you click on the picture you should be able to tell that the screen says "First Down", followed by an explanation of what a first down means in Dutch. We all thought this was quite humerous. They flash up explanations for things such as... first downs, interceptions, penalties, etc. Although these fans may understand the ins-and-outs of futbol, they still have a lot to learn about American Football!

After the game there is always a meal provided
for both teams and their spouses. It was entertaining to sit around with all the guys and listen to them talk about the game. Here is a picture of us after eating... Sam, Skyler, Gibran, Glenn, Bush, Me and Jared. After we finish eating there is an optional "After Party" where fans are packed in a room with loud music, drinks, and dancing. Gibran, Bush, Skyler, Jared, Sam and I made a courtesy walk-through and then headed out.

Instead of catching the bus back to the hotel in Utrecht, we walked to the nearest train station and caught a train to the Satellite Sports Cafe in Amsterdam. The George Mason/Florida NCAA Basketball Final Four game was on their big screen TV. It was the first glimpse of basketball we've seen since we left! The atmosphere was nice and everyone enjoyed their famous pancakes. At halftime we caught a 2:30 am train back to Utrecht which was an adventure in itself. The passengers at that time of day are a sight to see. We sat in 1st class, thinking no one would care, needless we got caught and our ignorance act didn't fly too well. Apparently it's always the "Americans" that say they don't know! We finally made it back to the room about 3:30am. However, I just heard from Jared that Skyler and Sam had a little mishap with her bag and didn't get to sleep until closer to 7am. I guess Sam panicked when she couldn't find her bag and took off to the train station to find it. After a long search to track it down, they gave up, went back to the room and found it under her jacket! :) I smile because it's exactly something I would do! (remember my passport incident on the way here!)
